Advice for Road Runners: The Mizuno Men's Wave Inspire 21 Running Shoes now feature Mizuno Enerzy Nxt foam. This iconic model should feel even more propulsive.

Underfoot Feel

The heel wedge in the Mizuno Wave Inspire 21 Running Shoes is now Mizuno Enerzy Nxt foam. This should deliver a softer and bouncier underfoot feel.

The top section of the midsole is still Mizuno Enerzy foam - a soft and energetic material.

Most importantly, the midsole should feel very stable. This is down to Wave Plate. The anatomical plate - that follows the shape of the foot - stops the foot arch from collapsing. It also helps smooth weight transfer from landing to take-off, and improves propulsion.

Finally, the midfoot gauge is 7 mm wider than the previous version - improving the inherent stability of the midsole.

Upper Fit

The Mizuno Wave Inspire 21 Running Shoes feature a lightweight jacquard air mesh.

An updated PU print design should deliver a seamless-like fit, that helps keep weight to a minimum. A gusset tongue should improve midfoot hold.

Ideal Run Type

The Mizuno Men's Wave Inspire 21 Running Shoes are suitable for both slow and steady-paced runs. This is because the cushioning should feel protective and propulsive. It's likely the cushioning will feel at its best during steady runs.

For the avoidance of doubt, the supportive Wave Plate should reduce greater ranges of pronation.

Sizing Advice

Shoe size is a personal preference and everyone's feet are different, but we want to ensure you avoid any pain or discomfort from bruised toenails, rubbing, blistering or pins and needles.

Your running shoes should have enough width to allow you to spread your toes and should have some space at the front (we recommend having a half to one thumb's width of space from the end of your longest toe to the front of your running shoes).

This usually means that your running shoe will be at least a half size bigger than your regular shoe size though this can vary from brand to brand.
